More Details On Our Favorite Electric Carving Knives
You’ve seen the highlights on our opinion of the top 3 best electric carving knives. Continue reading below for more details on these and the other 7 electric knives that round out our top 10. Each has its own reason for being on the list, and we cover that in our detailed electric carving knife reviews below.
1. Cuisinart CEK-40 Electric Carving/Bread Knife
We believe the Cuisinart CEK-40 is the best electric carving knife available. It’s been time-tested with thousands of 4 & 5 star reviews at Amazon alone so you don’t just have to take our word for it. This “Best Seller” has a powerful motor, two sets of blades included (one for meat and one for breads), and a safety lock. It also comes with the wood block storage tray that you see above for safe keeping.
Many electric knives come with a very short cord, making it almost impossible to use without an extension cord. Not this guy. The Cuisinart CEK-40 as reviewed, comes with a cord over 6 feet long.
What else? The blades are removed with the push of a single button, and they come apart for easy cleaning! There’s nothing worse than trying to wash knife blades that are still attached to your ELECTRIC carving knife.
Last, but not least, the CEK-40 has a safety lock switch. It allows you to lock the blades in the “on” position so that you don’t have to hold the button in constantly with your wet, dirty, slick hands when it’s not safe to do so.
2. Cuisinart CEK-50 Cordless Electric Carving Knife
The Cuisinart CEK-50 cordless electric carving knife is the BEST! The only reason we couldn’t list this as our top choice is the price.
It’s quite expensive, but if you’re ready to spend the money, it’s an awesome knife. Absolutely no cords to deal with while carving your turkey or slicing that homemade loaf of bread.
One of the reasons the Cuisinart CEK-50 is the best cordless electric carving knife is because it can run a full 20 minutes on a single charge. You can prepare an entire meal for 20-30 of your closest friends without needing to charge it.
It’s easy to use and has one-touch operation as well as a safety lock/unlock to prevent accidents. No worries, it also comes complete with the AC adapter for the quick charging and a case with easy-grip handles, perfect for travel or storage.
3. Mighty Electric Carving Knife
How cool is this thing? Dude the “Mighty Carving Knife” looks like a real chainsaw, but functions as an electric carving knife!
It’s so much fun to pull this knife/saw out during a family gathering to carve the turkey or roast. Although it might look like a gimmick or toy, don’t underestimate it as a carving knife. It’s actually rated quite highly and very popular with consumers on Amazon.
Besides carving meat, this knife also works for slicing and dicing fruits, veggies, and more.
It uses stainless steel blades, has an ergonomic handle and the bar releases for cleaning. It looks heavy, but it’s surprisingly lightweight and inexpensive. Great option for adults that are still a kid at heart!
4. Cuisinart CEK-30 Electric Carving Knife
You might be starting to put this together, but Cuisinart makes several fan-favorites when it comes to electric carving knives. They’re also relatively popular among consumers as a mass-produced kitchen knife brand as well.
The CEK-30 model is a lighter-weight duty knife than the CEK-40 at the top of our list. It also only comes with a single blade. While some of the bells and whistles are missing in this lower cost model, the blade is still removeable for washing.
Cuisinart’s CEK-30 is the best cheap electric carving knife in our opinion! If you don’t want to spend much and only plan on pulling this puppy out once a year at Thanksgiving to carve that beautiful bird, this is a great option.
5. Black + Decker EK500B Electric Carving Knife
Antoher popular, and very inexpensive electric carving knife, the Black + Decker EK500B has been around for quite some time and gets good reviews. Like many of the other models, it has removeable parts that are dishwasher safe. It also has the all-important safety lock button. It’s a safety feature that doen’s allow the knife to turn on while it’s plugged in.
No frills here, just a single set of 9″ stainless steel blades that can easily be removed when necessary. As one of the cheapest options available, don’t expect this to last forever, but it will get the job done. Check out the reviews on this one, many actually use it as a multi-purpose tool! It moonlights as a tool for crafty-type jobs around the house.
6. Oster FPSTEK2803B Electric Knife Set
This electric carving set from Oster (model no. FPSTEK2803B) includes an inexpensive electric knife with a matching fork and storage case. It uses a removable, 9.5″ stainless steel cutting blade with a pointed tip for cutting in especially hard to carve areas.
The Oster electric knife is specifically made for carving meats and poultry, slicing through them with ease. While this model is not as popular as most of the Cuisinarts, it’s still a nice model with a great price tag. Don’t overlook this one when you’re searching for your next carving knife.
7. Hamilton Beach Electric Knife Set for Carving Meats
The Hamilton Beach electric knife comes complete with matching fork and carry case. It’s perfect for cutting meats, poultry, bread, or even foam blocks for arts and crafts projects.
The oscillating, double blades on this electric knife make precision cuts a simple task and the storage case keeps everything together so you don’t loose any of the parts. The serrated blade means never needing to sharpen it.
Perfect for carving turkeys, ham, or roast beef, this electric knife makes quick work of your family’s dinner, leaving you more time to spend with loved ones!
8. Proctor Silex Easy Slice Electric Knife
Proctor Silex makes this great electric carving knife, perfect for breads or meats. It features reciprocating, serrated blades for quick, even cuts every time. The simple trigger helps you safely control the cuts and the ergonomic handle ensures comfort throughout the task.
The easy slice electric knife uses a lightweight design, making it easy to hold and perfect for a craft cutting knife for things like foam blocks and more. However, it’s one of the cheaper made carving knives on this list and really isn’t made for heavy-duty year rough usage.
Which Electric Carving Knife Should I Buy???
How do you know if you should spend a lot or a little on an electric carving knife? The answer is simple, but first you must ask yourself this two-fold question…
How often are you going to use it, and are you the type of person that buys lower-cost products and treats them like disposable items, or someone that buys good, quality products that last forever? Over a lifetime, the latter will end up costing less!
If you only plan on using it once a year at Thanksgiving, and you don’t mind that you’ll need to buy another one someday in the future, we suggest the Cuisinart CEK-30. It’s inexpensive, yet gets the job done.
But, if you’re ready to pony up just a few bucks more, you can get our #1 choice and get the extra bells and whistles, and frankly, a better knife. We really recommend buying the Cuisinart CEK-40 for most folks.
Of course, there’s the specialty knives too, but you already knew immediately if those were the best options for you. If you want/need cordless, obviously go with the Cuisinart CEK-50. And the same goes with the Mighty Carving Knife! Are you the type that likes to have fun with your food 🙂 ?
